1. What We Collect

We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, company name, and usage data when you interact with the platform. This includes chat queries, search history, watchlist items, and exported data.

2. How We Use It

Your data is used to: (a) provide and improve the Makeshift platform; (b) personalize your experience; (c) send transactional emails (verification, password reset, alerts); (d) communicate product updates if you opted in; (e) aggregate anonymous analytics to improve our service.

3. Chat Data

Chat queries are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Queries may be stored temporarily by Anthropic per their data retention policy. We store chat history in our database to provide conversation history and quality improvements.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share personal information with advertisers or third-party marketers. Service providers (Anthropic for AI, Resend for email, Vercel for hosting) process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. Chat history is retained for 12 months. Activity logs are retained for 6 months. You can request deletion of your data at any time.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to: (a) access your personal data; (b) request correction of inaccurate data; (c) request deletion of your account and data; (d) export your data; (e) opt out of marketing communications.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. Optional analytics cookies are only loaded if you accept cookies via our consent banner. You can reject non-essential cookies without affecting platform functionality.
